Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • DAY 1: ENTEBBE

    Welcome to Uganda! On arrival, you will be met at the Airport by Justice Tourism  Foundation (JTF) representative who will escort you to your safari vehicle and will introduce you to your Driver who will also be your Guide.  The first stop will be a short drive to your accommodation where you will be able to relax and contemplate the Best of Uganda Safari adventure that lies ahead.

  • DAY 2: EXPERIENCE 1ST UGANDAN HANDS-ON COOKING CLASSES WITH LOCAL CHEFS TO EXPLORE THE UGANDAN LOCAL CUISINE AND CULTURAL EXCURSIONS AROUND UGANDAN CAPITAL CITY OF KAMPALA

    Uganda’s capital city of Kampala borders Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. The downtown area of Kampala offers a multitude of historical and cultural attractions for visitors to explore.

    ·         visit a local street food vendor and participate in the preparations and cooking of some the local fast food dishes.

    ·         Explore Uganda’s capital city of Kampala and discover the stories behind its historical and cultural sites. 

    ·         Spend the evening at Ndere Cultural Center and enjoy a local meal and traditional music and dance.

  • DAY 3: TRANSFER TO THE TOURISM CITY OF FORT PORTAL TO EXPLORE THE RURAL LIFESTYLE AND EXPERIENCE AUTHENTIC UGANDA VILLAGE LIFE

    On this day after an early breakfast, you drive 300km west of the capital city of Kampala to the tourism city of fort Portal. The drive will take you 4hrs to 5hrs with some stopovers at Mubende town for a local traditional lunch. You will arrive in Fort Portal late afternoon and check in at your hotel.

  • DAY 4: RURAL CULTURAL TOUR & COOKING WORKSHOPS

    On this day after an early breakfast, you will explore authentic Uganda village life by visiting local tea plantations where you will participate in the picking of tea with the locals then head to the heart of the village- the kitchen- where you will learn how to prepare tasty local delicacies and then indulge in your efforts. After you enjoy your meal, get to the village’s handicraft workshop, where you will observe the creation of traditional crafts by locals.  After the demonstration, you will get the chance to try weaving for yourself. One of the weavers from our women's cooperative will act as your personal teacher to help you create your own bracelet which you can take home as a memento of your time in the community. To finish off a day of culture, you will be treated to a performance of the traditional Ugandan traditional music and dance.  At the end of the tour, you will have the chance to buy textiles and souvenirs directly from the women who make them.  The weavers sell a wide range of high-quality artisan good that we guarantee are hand woven, naturally dyed, and 100% natural

  • DAY 5: GO CHIMP TREKKING IN KIBALE FOREST AND LATER CULTURAL VILLAGE TOUR.

    Today in the morning you will do Chimpanzee Tracking where the experienced Uganda wildlife ranger takes you through the Process. Chimps have been tracked since 1993 and the chances of locating them are excellent. Kibale forest national park that is a home to a total of 70 mammal species and most famously 13 species of primates including the chimpanzee. Guided walks start at 8am and last an average of three hours, depending on various factors. Beside the chimps, thirteen species of Primates can be sought, and a good variety of diurnal monkeys invariably encountered during your trek to the chimpanzees.

    After this amazing experience of the Chimpanzee tracking you  will have your lunch and later proceed the Top of the World Hike takes you to villages, crater lakes, Tea Plantations and incredible Views. The Top of the World Hike is a popular activity with visitors to nearby Kibale Forest and Fort Portal.  The Top of the World Hike starts at the tranquil crater Lake Nyabikere (meaning lake of frogs), even from the starting point you can, on a clear day see the Ruwenzori Mountains of the Moon. You enjoy your walk through the grassland, small communities and some beautiful scenery where the locals are likely to greet you with enthusiastic waves. It is usual to spot 3 or 4 different primate species during this walk, though the highlight is catching a glimpse of the Great Blue Turaco and better to capture the thrill of a howling black and white colobus or to listen to the wood owl calling his partner, Expect a green, lush environment, birds and butterflies, forest smells and sounds. In short a place to unwind from the concrete jungle”,

  • DAY 6: TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

    On this day, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park the second Uganda’s biggest national park thereby giving you most chances of visiting the crater lakes, experiencing the memorable adventurous game drives to spot the tree climbing loins, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, warthogs, waterbuck, hyena, topis, leopards, hippos, among other have a great unforgettable Kazinga channel boad ride on Lake George and Lake Edward.

     

    You will be arriving at the Queen Elizabeth National Park mid – morning and have an early lunch before getting on for the Boat cruise in the afternoon. One of the highlights of visiting Queen Elizabeth National Park is the boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. After lunch you will enjoy the unique 3 hours boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. The boat ride is a round trip beginning at the Mweya Peninsula and lasting around 3 hours and offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The channel is a 32 – kilometer along natural channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel ha one of the world’s largest concentration of hippos, numerous Nile crocodiles, buffalo, elephants and a whole host of birds, including African eagles, kingfishers, herons, storks and skimmers.  The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 600 resident species.

  • DAY 7: EARLY MORNING GAME DRIVE AT QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK AND TRANSFER TO KAMPALA IN THE AFTERNOON

    Since this is a fully packed day, we start of early morning with a game drive in the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will drive through the park's diverse eco- system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. Game drive in this sector of the park, with the massive Ruwenzori’s as a backdrop provides excellent opportunities to see tree climbing lion, leopard, giant forest hog, cape buffalo, elephants, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, Topi and bush buck.

  • DAY 8: TOUR OF SSESE ISLANDS - (TRANSFER TO SSESE ISLANDS BUGALA)

    A collection of 84 islands in Lake Victoria make up what we know as the Ssese Islands. Lake Victoria is the largest fresh-water lake in Africa. The Ssese islands are found in Kalangala District –  about 51kilometeres away from Entebbe town. The Ssese islands are one of the most popular tourist attractions while on a Uganda tour.

     

    Our tour guide will drive you to the Nakiwogo landing site in Entebbe before 2:00pm. The ferry leaves at exactly 2:00pm. You will then sail to the largest island Bugala. While on the ferry, enjoy the beautiful sites of the second largest fresh water lake in the world. The ferry drops everybody at the Lutoboka bay in Bugala Island and by this time, you would already know just how beautiful the island is. Check in at the hotel, shower and take a walk to admire the beautiful scenery. The rest of the evening will be spent relaxing and enjoying the white sand beach. A camp-fire can be lit on request later in the evening.

  • DAY 9: NATURE WALKS, SWIMMING, FISHING AT THE SSESE ISLAND

    Begin your beautiful day with sumptuous breakfast which can be arranged for you at the beach as you watch the sun rise. You will then go for a guided nature walk within the Bugala Island. The island Guide will take you to visit all the important places around the island while sharing information about the history and cultural significance of each spot. The Guide will also help you locate birds, primates, butterflies and other wildlife species as you walk through the forests in the island. After the forest walk, visit the landing/fishing sites and learn about their fishing lifestyle. Take as many photos as you can of the island and whatever you do. There are several other activities that will be involved in and they include boat cruising, sport fishing, beach games and sunbathing. We can also hire a bike from the lodge for you to use visit the different parts of the island alone or with a guide.

  • DAY 10: DEPARTURE TO ENTEBBE

    After early morning breakfast, you will transfer back to Entebbe. The ferry leaves Bugala at 8am and arrives in Entebbe at 11am. Our JTF guide will take you back to Entebbe airport for onward flights. We believe you would have enjoyed your time in Bugala Island and left with beautiful memories.
